Tanahu, Feb 7 : Former Energy Minister Barshaman Pun inspected the Tanahu hydropower project under-construction in Jhaputar in Rishing rural municipality-1. Pun, who had come to Damauli to attend a programme of his party, took out time to take note of the progress made in the project that was prioritized during his tenure as the Energy Minister.
On the occasion, he stressed that the project should be completed on time. Chief of the Project, Achyut Ghimire apprised the Minister of the progress made so far.
The Sinohydro company is working on package two of the project. It has completed infrastructure works like camp, batching and crushing plant, lab, clinic, store and equipment room and working on cable tunnel, pilot tunnel of the power house and access road.
The KEC International is working on package three of the project, which includes construction of the transmission line. The project has so far spent around one billion rupees under package two and 30 million rupees under package three so far. The Indian company, KEC is working to construct the 220 KV double circuit transmission line from Damauli to Bharatpur.
The project targets to produce 178.90 MW power in the dry season and 323.68 in the rainy season. The total estimated cost of the project is 505 million US dollars.
