Bhaktapur, June 10 : At least four cows including two calves and hens of various breed died after a fire broke out at a cow farm owned by a local at Dadhikot at Suryabinayak Municipality-4 in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday night.
Two cows with their youngs and some hens were rescued from the blaze, according to Metropolitan Police Premises, Bhaktapur SP Deepak Giri.
The fire incurred damaged worth over Rs 800,000 to the cow farm owner, police said.
The fire that erupted suddenly was put out at 3 am with the help of locals and fire brigade from Bhaktapur.
Meanwhile, police have confiscated illegally made 2,800 litres of homemade alcohol and 1,600 litres of raw materials used to make such hooch.
The illegally made liquor was seized from a five-storey house of Narayan Baag of Deganaika in Bhaktapur Municipality-9. The illegal hooch and raw materials that were hidden at a personal residence were destroyed in presence of people’s representatives and locals, informed police.
