Manma, Apr 11: Six houses were reduced to ashes Saturday when the fire broke out at Pachaljharana Rural Municipality-8 in Kalikot. The families of Durga Sarki, Birman Sarki, Bhaire Sarki, Ati Sarki, Dhanraj Sarki and Amrite Sarki have been homeless as the fire destroyed their houses, said rural municipality Chairperson Khadga Raj Sejuwal.
Each family suffered the property loss worth some Rs 1.5 million. It, however, caused no human casualty. The local government has ensured immediate relief assistance- food and shelter for the survivors.
They have been provided tarpaulin sheets. The local representatives promised to take initiative to provide permanent shelter to the survivors under the government's people's housing programme.
