Eight health personnel working in quarantines found infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Parsa in two days

By Dipak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, June 15: Infection of SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 has been confirmed in additional 10 people inlcuding eight health workers who have been deployed in different quarantine facilities of the district, according to the report of the swab test conducted at the Narayani Hospital laboratory.

Dr. Madan Upadhyaya, chief medical superintendent of the hospital, said that 10 people including a woman were found infected with the virus in Parsa district on Monday. Of them, five health workers were found infected with the virus on Sunday and three on Monday. The health workers got infected while working in the quarantines.

Health workers have got infected due to lack of personal protective equipment for health workers and negligence on the part of the people staying quarantine to follow discipline including social distancing.

On Sunday, five health workers working in Panch Pokhriya quarantine were detected with the virus while on Monday, three health workers taking care of Bindbasini quarantine were confirmed to have contacted the contagion.
