Kathmandu, Oct. 8: Discussion is being held between the government talks team and representatives of Prof Dr Govinda KC regarding his demands.
The discussion is taking place at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, shared Chairperson of Nepal Medical Association, Dr Lochan Karki, who is participating in the discussion on the behalf of Dr KC.
The government had on Wednesday formed three-member talks team under coordination of Education Secretary Gopinath Mainali to hold discussion with Dr KC. Joint-Secretary Jibraj Lohani and Director at the Medical Education Commission, Dr Dilip Sharma, are the members of government talks team.
A talks team under coordination of Dr Jeevan Chhetri comprising Dr Anjani Kumar Jha, lawyer Om Prakash Aryal and Dr Karki was formed from Dr KC side soon after the government formed the talks team.
Dr KC has been staging hunger strike since September 14 demanding reform in medical education service. This is the 19th hunger strike of Dr KC. Dr KC has put forth six-point demand related to reforms in the medical education.
The government has brought agitating KC to Kathmandu from Jumla after one week of his hunger strike. Demonstration is taking place at different parts of the country demanding save the life of Dr KC.
