Kathmandu, Aug 22 : The government has issued directives to all tiers of government agencies to observe this year's civil service day by organizing programmes or events that are possible in the current situation.
The civil service day is marked on Bhadau 22 in the lunar calendar in commemoration of the day that the Civil Service Act was introduced 16 years ago in 2061 B.S.
The civil service day main celebration committee convened by Chief Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi has directed all the three tiers to observe the day considering the lockdown rules and following the health protocol.
Likewise, the committee has decided to public a notice in the website of the
Ministry of Information and Communications Technology calling applications for the civil servants to be awarded with the Civil Service Prize.
Likewise, a decision was taken to bring out civil service special issue in Gorkhapatra daily and organize discussion programmes through Radio
Nepal and Nepal Television. Audi visual materials, pamphlets and other messages will be developed on various aspects of civil service.
The committee has also formed a 11-member civil service day programme coordination committee convened by Secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration Surya Prasad Gautam.
