Chitwan, May 5: The District Administration Office and District Police Office, Chitwan have started investigations into the complaint about alleged stealing from the Corona Hospital here some days ago.
According to Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, investigations into the matter are going on and the findings are expected to come within the next few days.
It may be noted that some days ago, a CCTV footage featuring a person apparently stealing medical equipment from the Corona Special (temporary) Hospital was released. Later, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority confiscated required documents from the hospital for investigation.
But, it is being claimed the stuffs was taken by the Bharatpur metropolis. The incidence raised the doubt at it happened during night time.
The main opposition Nepali Congress is demanding the investigation into the incident citing it an evidence of irregularities in the hospital.
Meanwhile, an elephant brought here by the Tiger Ecology Project 37 years ago died this morning. The elephant named Kritikali was under the protection of the National Trust of Nature Conservation, Suraha. It was around 70 years of age.
The death was probably due to ageing, Trust chief Ram Kumar Aryal said. The animal was found dead this morning. It was buried after a test by a veterinary team.
