By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Aug. 19: Parsa has recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths today.
An 84-year-old COVID-19 patient of Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC)-4 died on Tuesday night at 10:30 pm receiving treatment at Gandak Temporary COVID-19 Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on August 11, said Dr. Udayanarayan Singh, coordinator of the temporary hospital. He was also suffering from pneumonia.
Likewise, a 57-year-old male of BMC-15, Bhiswa was found to have been infected with the novel coronavirus after he died on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
He was admitted to Narayani Hospital on Tuesday itself, said Dr. Singh.
Vinaya Shrivastava, an officer of the Parsa District Administration Office, said, "His swab sample was collected after his death and the PCR test was done at Narayani Hospital's laboratory through gene expert method."
With this, the COVID-19 death toll of Parsa has reached 30 of which, 26 deaths were recorded in the month of Shrawan.
Of the deceased, 22 are from Parsa, five are from Bara and two are from Rautahat and one COVID-19 deceased has not been identified yet.
