By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Sept. 17: As many as 44 COIVD-19 patients in Banke were discharged on Thursday after recovering from the virus infection.
According to the Banke District Health Office, along with the increasing cases of COVID-19 cases, the number of recoveries was also increasing in the district.
Following the recovery of 44 COVID-19 patients on Thursday, the district's recovery cases have crossed 1,100.
Naresh Shrestha, COVID-19 focal person of Banke, said, "The cases of recovery in Banke have reached 1,132 and the recovery rate stands at 73.22 per cent. On Wednesday, the recovery rate was at 71.96 per cent."
The infection rate in the district is at 0.26 per cent, informed the health office.
"The threat of the spread of the virus is more in urban areas of the district. More than half of the 1,546 total cases of the district were seen in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City," said Shrestha.
Currently, some 406 patients are receiving treatment at various isolation centers.
Meanwhile, Banke recorded 10 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. In the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur and Bageshwor Diagnostic and Polyclinic Center, Nepalgunj, as many as 10 persons were found with the novel coronavirus.
