Syangja, May 30 : Ayurvedic drug has been tested in COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at the isolation care of District Hospital here.
The medicine was brought into use as per the protocol developed by the Department of Ayurved and Alternative Medicine Kathmandu to increase the immune system of the patient.
According to District Ayurvedic Hospital's Chief Shubhadra Karki, fresh extract of Gurjo plant (Tinospora Cordifolia ) collected from a local jungle is being given to the patients along with other herbal medicines which are supposed to boost up the immune power. Besides, the patients are getting useful Yoga tips such as pranayam and others through a video conference, it is said.
Earlier, four males and one a woman staying in quarantine at Waling after their arrival from India were tested positive for the virus and four males are being treated at the isolation care while the woman has been taken to Pokhara. Their health condition is said to be normal.
