By Lila Raj Jhapali, Birtamod, Sept. 10: All 11 members of a family have tested positive for COVID-19 here in Kankai Municiaplity-3.
Laxmi Adhikari, member of Corona Information and Communication Committee of Kankai Municipality, said it was probably the first time that such a number of a single family has been found infected in Jhapa district.
The municipality has arranged for delivery of necessary food stuff at home of the family in which all members including 14-year old grandson and 84-year old grandmother have been found with the infection of the novel coronavirus.
It is not that the house in the settlement of Kankai Municipality-3 is an isolated case in terms of infection, cases of infection are found in the whole of the village.
Until now, 48 persons of the municipality have been found infected while the report of the swabs collected for two days a few days ago is awaited.
Health section of the municipality informed that there had been delay in getting the report as the swab tested in the municipality itself had to be sent to Dharan for re-testing for confirmation.
