By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Aug. 24: A 70-year-old female who died on Sunday morning at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj was found to be COVID-19 positive.
"The 70-year-old elderly was from Bindabasini Rural Municipality-3, Itiyahi. She died at around 11:30 am on Sunday," said Dr. Atulesh Chaurasiya, information officer of the Narayani Hospital. "Her swab sample was collected on Saturday. She was found to be COVID-19 positive in PCR test report which came out late on Sunday."
She was also suffering from Tuberculosis and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after having difficulties in breathing.
With this, the COVID-19 death toll in Birgunj has reached 37. Some 33 persons succumbed to the virus infection in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August) month itself.
