By Sailendra Rokaya, Bajhang, May 2: At least 93 residents of Thalara, Bhajang distrct, have been wedged in Rampur of India.
In the group, there are 13 females, children and aged people. One of the females has given birth to a baby while in quarantine.
Because of nationwide lockdown in both the countries, these people have been stuck at the border on their way back home.
"We have been quarantined in Rampur with basic food and accommodation facilities. However, we wish to go back home," said Bharat Thapa on telephonic conversation.
“We are having difficulties here, there are women and children in quarantine,” he said. "Scarcity of drinking water has compelled us to drink water from taps in bathroom. Also, we are having mental breakdown."
We do not know when everything will go back to normal and how long we have to stay here, he added in despair.
The Indian Police said that Nepal government had appealed to stop the movement which is why we have been quarantined here, said Thapa.
All people are Bajhang residents from Thalara, Dangaji, Parakatne, Kotvaira, said Amar Thapa through telephone. He appealed the Nepal government to make arrangements bring them back to Nepal.
The extension of lockdown of India has made us more anxious, added Thapa.
Nepalis who are stuck in Rampur, India said that Nepal Goverenment had not taken any measures to bring them back home.
They have also appealed to the reporters and Human Right Officials to let them come home.
Dhan Bhadur Bista, Mayor of Bugal Municipality, Bhajang said, “We've been coordinating with Chief District Officer of Bhajang and the government of India to rescue the stranded Nepalis.”
