By Dhirendra Prasad Shah, Rajbiraj, May 21: As many as 900 Nepalis have entered Nepal from various border points of Saptari district.
A total of 116 Nepalis including seven women and 109 men entered Nepal on Thursday itself.
Following the relaxation of lockdown and operation of railway services in India, 898 persons, 72 women and 826 men have entered Nepal via various border points of the district, said, Duniyalal Yadav, chief of Saptari District Health Office.
Yadav said that all of the entrants were placed at various quarantines of the district. "They're sent to the quarantine of their respective local level as soon as they enter Nepal," he added.
37 quarantines with 1,090 beds have been set up in 18 local levels of the district.
"Although we've been working round the clock to keep surveillance of the entrants at the border, many people might have sneaked into Nepal, thereby increasing the risk of COVID-19 spread," Yadav said.
He said that the border points were under high surveillance to prevent sneaking of people into Nepal.
After the Indian government brought railway services into operation in its third phase of lockdown, many Nepali students, labourers and entrepreneurs residing in various parts of India such as Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Banglore and so forth have been returning to Nepal.
