By Jaya krishna Yadav, Inaruwa, July 15: Of the 102 COVID-19 patients identified in Sunsari from mid-June, 88 have recovered from the virus infection.
According to Sunsari Health Office 105 people including three of the other districts were found to be COVID-19 positive till now.
along with a new COVID-19 case of Sunsari, 14 COVID-19 patients from Dharan, Itahari, Ramdhuni and Barju are receiving treatment in various health facilities.
The office reported that health condition of all patients is normal.
Bhokraha had recorded 19 cases of virus infection, which is the highest in Sunsari district.
As per the data revealed by the health office, most of the COVID-19 patients belong to age group from 21 to 30, few belong to 11-20 years of age. Likewise, the district has recorded only two cases of virus infection in people above 60 years of age.
Till now, 5,184 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in Sunsari, out of which only 102 were found with the virus infection.
Of the total infected, 84 are males and 18 are females.
Srijana Linthep, Corona Focal Person of the district health office, said that 2,178 Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) were performed in Sunsari until now and 520 tests were done through contact tracing.
All the cases recorded in the district were detected in India returnees. No case of community transfer has been recorded in the district.
