By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, July 24: Nepal has recorded yet another COVID-19 death today.
An 85-year old femaleCOVID-19 patient receiving treatment in Gandak COVID-19 temporary hospital died on Friday morning, said Dr. Udaya Narayan Singh, coordinator of the hospital.
The woman was a permanent resident of Shripur, Birgunj Metropolitan City-1.
After sensing some health issues, she was admitted to Advance Hospital, Birgunj on Monday. Her swab sample was collected on Tuesday and she tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.
After testing COVID-19 positive, she was shifted to isolation center in Gandak COVID-19 hospital on Thursday.
The patient breathed her last at around 11:30 AM on Friday, said Dr. Singh.
He added that the deceased was also a heart patient. She was admitted to Advance Hospital a few days earlier after suffering from pneumonia.
“Discussions are being held with Nepali Army (NA) as to conducting the contact tracing and disposal of the dead body,” said Dr. Singh.
