By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, Sept. 7: A 76-year-old male of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-10 succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection on Monday morning at 3:15 am while undergoing treatment at the COVID-19 Treatment Center of Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.
According to Gyan Bahadur Basnet of the treatment center, he had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 27 and was staying in home isolation.
After 10 days of staying in home isolation, his health condition started deteriorating and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, said Dr. Chumanlal Das, medical superintendent at Koshi Hospital. He was also suffering from high blood pressure.
State 1 has recorded 42 COVID-19 related deaths until now of which, 15 are from Biratnagar itself.
