By Laxman Poudel, Bhairahawa, Aug. 25: Bhim Hospital in Bhairahawa recorded first COVID-19 related death on Monday night.

A 50-year-old male COVID-19 patient of Gaidahawa Rural Municipality-3, Rupandehi died at around 11:00 pm on Monday night, said Dr. Sumit Prajapati, COVID-19 focal person of Bhim Hospital.

He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday.

According to Dr. Prajapati, he was suffering from a serious head injury by falling off a building that was under construction.

After the accident, he was taken to Bhairahawa Hospital for further treatment where he tested positive for COVID-19 on August 21.

He was then referred to Bhim Hospital.
