By Mukunda Subedi, Bardiya, Sept. 6: As many as 42 employees of CG Foods working at the company's plant at Banshgadhi in the district have been found infected with the novel coronavirus.
Gokarna Giri, Chief of Bardiya District Health Officer, informed that of the 43 people found positive for COVID-19 in the PCR test carried out in the last 24 hours in the laboratory of the Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, 42 were the staff of the CG Food Park.
Of the 42, 29 are women.
Giri said that infection in the CG Food employees was found through contact tracing of the two employees of the same company who had tested positive for the deadly virus earlier.
He said COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee was holding its meeting following detection of so many numbers of infected persons and that preparations were underway to seal off Banshgadhi Municipality.
With the 43 newly infected, Bardiya district COVID-19 tally has reached 407.
