By Shaligram Nepal, Chitwan, Sept. 11: Chitwan on Friday recorded 34 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the report made public by the COVID-19 laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital, of the 156 swab samples put to the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, as many as 34 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection.
Dr. Nitu Adhikari, head of the laboratory, said that of the 34 persons, who tested COVID-19 positive, 31 are from Chitwan and three are from other districts.
All 31 newly identified COVID-19 patients are from Bharatpur Metropolitan City of which, 26 are males and five are females, belonging to the age group from 12 to 57, informed Dr. Adhikari.
The swab samples were collected from the swab collection center of Bharatpur Hospital, Old Medical College, Pushpanjali Hospital, and various quarantine facilities.
Likewise, a 28-year-old male and a 29-year-old female of Gaindakot Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi (East) were also found with the virus infection.
Likewise, a 21-year-old female of Thori Municipality-2, Parsa also tested positive for the virus.
With this, the COVID-19 tally of Chitwan has crossed 1,100.
