By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, July 13: As many as 33 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at Purbanchal University (PU) Medical College in Sunderharaicha, Morang have been discharged after recovering from the virus.
The 33 COVID-19 patients, aged 18-56, were discharged after testing negative for the virus in their second Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.
Among the recovered patients, 20 are from Jhapa, two each from Sunsari and Khotang, three from Sankhuwasabha and one is from Taplejung. “Now, only 42 patients are receiving treatment in the hospital,” informed Dr Sailesh Mani Pokharel, Dean of the Medical College.
As many as 227 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the PU COVID-19 Treatment Center until now. Six patients admitted to the center were referred to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan and Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.
604 out of 724 SARS-CoV-2 infected patients in State 1 have already recovered from the virus. Currently, the state has 120 active cases of COVID-19. The patients are receiving treatment in isolation in various health facilities.
The recovery rate of State 1 now stands at 83.42 per cent.
