By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Aug. 25: The recovery rate of COVID-19 has been on the rise in Banke of late. Some 26 virus-infected patients receiving treatment at various hospitals and isolation centers across the district were discharged on Tuesday itself after recovering from the infection.
Naresh Shrestha, COVID-19 focal person of Banke Health Office, said that seven females and 19 males were discharged on Tuesday.
Of the 26 discharged patients, 21 were receiving treatment in isolation center set up at Hotel City Palace, Nepalgunj and five were in isolation at Open Jail.
With the increasing recovery rates, the threat that loomed over the locals about community transmission of the virus has decreased, said Shrestha.
The District Health Office said that the Kohalpur area was becoming the COVID-19 hotspot lately. A prohibitory order has been imposed in Kohalpur for the last 10 days.
Meanwhile, two doctors of Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj have tested positive for the virus.
According to the Hosptial, Dr. Sanket Kumar Risal and Dr. Rajan Pandey, who was continuously working for COVID-19 response, were found to be infected with the virus.
Of the 835 cases of virus infection in the district, 654 have already been discharged after recovering. Currently, there are 177 active cases of COVID-19 and the district has recorded four COVID-19 deaths.
