By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, Aug. 3: As many as 18 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Biratnagar on Monday, taking the caseload of Biratnagar Metropolitan City (BMC) to 138.
The virus infection was detected in 18 people including a high level official of State 1 government and three families.
Of the 18 infected, three are from BMC-2, seven are from State Police Office, Biratnagar, four are from BMC-7 and one is from BMC-6.
"Two females aged 30 and 36 and two males aged 25 and 45 of of BMC-7 and a 24-year-old male of BMC-6 have also contracted the virus," said Ramesh Karki, public health chief of BMC.
Likewise, the virus infection was detected in two health workers of Koshi Hospital and one of Birat Medical College.
