Parasi, Oct. 30: Only on rare instances does a father get the opportunity to preside over the 84th birthday puja rituals of his son. But 108-year-old Keshav Raj Gyawali of Harkatta, Sunawal Municipality-12 had this rare honour. He performed the puja rituals on the occasion of the 84th birthday of his eldest son Dadhiram today.
The Gyawalis' neighbours witnessed this rare moment as the 108-year-old dad showered blessings of long-life, good health and progress on his 84-year-old son. The people present during the puja ceremony also took blessings from this centenarian. They took blessings from both father and the son.
"It is a new thing for us to get the rare opportunity to receive the blessings of father and son on the occasion of the 84th birthday puja of the son," said Raj Kumar Shrestha, who was among those present at the ceremony.
The Gyawali senior is healthy even at this age. According to Hari Prasad Gyawali, 77, one among Keshav's four sons, their father who spent his life in farming has not taken any medicine so far.
