By Sher Bahadur Sharki, Bajura, Aug. 24: The Sanfe-Martadi highway has been obstructed for over two months.
A road section from Barjugad to Martadi, the district headquarters of Bajura, along the highway has been disrupted due to landslides at multiple points following an incessant rainfall on June 6.
Bajura residents have been facing tough days to transport daily essentials for the lack of road operation.
District Administration Office of Bajura said that recent works related to the opening of the obstructed road has been started by Road Division Sanfe Bagar after the Bajura DAO wrote to it.
Although the road division has started working to open road areas from Barjugad to Balde Amkot, efforts have been obstructed by the rainfall.
Gopal Kumar Adhikari, Bajura's Chief District Officer, said that efforts to open the road by clearing debris have been hampered due to regular rainfall which has caused landslides to recur.
The CDO had inspected the road section at Balde Amkot where a big landslide has obstructed the road.
Due to the use of a dozer regularly to remove the debris on the road, small vehicles were plying along the road till a month back. But now, even that has been stopped for landslides have blocked the road again.
