By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Aug. 19: The term of the committee formed to investigate the disappearance of Jaya Singh Dhami of Darchula in the Mahakali River has been extended for the third time.
Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand extended the deadline for the third time after the committee failed to reach a conclusion even after extending the deadline by seven days. The committee in the beginning was given 10 days to submit its report.
According to Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry Phanindra Mani Pokhrel, the deadline has been extended with effect from August 18 as per the request of the committee.
Minister Khand has already said that the report to be prepared by the committee headed by Joint Secretary Janardan Gautam would be the final conclusion of the government in the Jaya Singh case.
The committee in the beginning was given 10 days to submit its report.
The committee members include Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Purushottam Kandel, Director for the Department of National Investigation Hutraj Thapa, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suresh Kumar Shrestha and Assistant Chief District Officer of Darchula Jyotshna Bhatta Joshi.
