Janakpurdham, Oct. 23: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav has said that the federal government is preparing to bring the Janakpur-Jayanagar Railway into operation soon.
Receiving the memorandum submitted by the Janakpurdham Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Janakpurdham on Friday, Minister Yadav stated that the government would begin discussions with the Indian side immediately and would soon take further steps.
Yadav said that the government was in favour of implementing the revised bill related to the railway service, even if through an ordinance.
She also urged everyone to come together to work for the public good and requested the parties to not politicise development. “Our tendency to drag each other down negatively impacts the nation and the community. So, let us not do that,” she said, urging the civil society and the citizens to inspect development works being carried out in their areas. “Development benefits everyone so we should also be interested in it,” she added.
Minister Yadav further said that the government had prioritised road transport in addition to trains. She also claimed that the existing laws gave room for contractors to misbehave and stressed the need for amending the current regulations.
