Chitwan, Nov. 15: The two-day Nepal-India Literature Festival, which started on Saturday in Sauraha, Chitwan, has been completed.
Inaugurating the literary festival with the participation of more than 100 Nepali language writers from Nepal and India on Saturday, the patriarch of Nepal Pragya-Pratisthan Ganga Prasad Upreti said that Nepali language and culture has its own identity in any part of the world.

“There are Nepali speakers all over the world who have Nepali identity and wherever we are, our identity are the same,” he said.
He said that the role of Nepali language speakers in neighbouring India is especially significant in the development and growth of Nepali language.

Mentioning that there is a problem in the export and import of the book published in both countries between Nepal and India, he added that efforts were being made by the governments of the two countries to find a solution.
“In this age of technological advancement, the exchange of books from one country to another is via online technology. We (Pragya - Pratisthan) have also made arrangements to sell Nepali books online,” Upreti further added.

He also said that the foundation has inaugurated the service of online book in the middle of a programme on Sunday.
Linguist and poet Mukunda Sharan Upadhyaya emphasised that the Nepali language should be the same wherever there is geography. The dilemma seen in regard to the Nepali language must now be removed, he added.
