Kathmandu, May 29: After her controversial statement on Kalapani border issue actress Barsha Raut has been trolled and has become a talk-of-the-town.
In a live interview, she said that the border issue should be resolved through dialogue between Nepal and India.
She also claimed that the journalists of both countries were inciting a conflict.
Nepali people poured out their anger at Raut especially when she commented, “How am I going to face my Indian friends and how are my Indian friends going to face me after the dispute?”
Though on the very next day she apologized and accepted her mistake and committed to do anything for the nation and nationality, people continue to blast on her with sarcasm and foul comments.
Raut may not have thought that her statement would be a subject of national debate. Because of her statement Raut and her family are in great stress.
Barsha and her husband actor Sanjog Koirala thanked their fans and well-wishers who stood with them in the difficult situation.
“Thank you all for reaching out to us in any way possible; your message, calls and emails have provided us strength in these times. To be honest, we are not 100 per cent fine, we are not put together at all, nor are we broken completely. We are recovering slowly, finding beauty in ugly and stitching it into our life,” said both Barsha and Sanjog through social media.
Artists are the jewels of the nation, their statement and action would be the national issue, especially when it comes to national sentiment. In this regard, actress Manisha Koirala has received a huge respect from Nepali citizens for supporting the new map of Nepal whilst she was strongly criticised by the Indian media.
Raut, on the other hand, was the target of negative trolls and people even called her anti-nationalist. Even after Raut accepted her mistake and apologized, people still continue to criticise for her the statement.
