Kathmandu, May 8: Targeting both guardians and students who are unable to visit schools in-person for new admissions due to resurgent coronavirus pandemic, a large-scale virtual education fair has started from Thursday.
Private and Boarding School Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) has announced the first-ever fair, which will last until June 4, would provide sufficient and authentic information as well as counseling to those seeking them.
The fair features virtual school visits (from pre-primary to secondary level), interactions, live webinars with education experts, among others, the PABSON stated.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the organisation stated that since the students and parents are unable to visit the school in-person, they are scrambling to get authentic and sufficient information and that the fair would convey the message of hope to them by providing useful information such as selection of schools, filling up admission forms online.
The PABSON is organising the fair in coordination with College Readers.
"It will be invaluable in that the future will spread a very positive message in the field of education and gain wide participation as students, parents and stakeholders compare their preconceived notions, academic quality, manpower, results, interaction programs and other issues between different schools," the statement reads.
The fair will serve as a bridge between students, parents and the academic institutions across the country, and will enable them to make right decisions through the virtual platform.
About 150 schools from around the country, including the Kathmandu Valley are participating in the fair. They can be visited and information about them can be gathered by logging in www.nepalschoolmela.com
