Kathmandu, Aug. 28: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising’s term is expiring on September 14.
As his term in office is coming to an end, veteran celebrities from the entertainment industry have started lobbying for reappointment of Ghising using their social sites.
Veteran actors and comedians Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansha Aachrya both came in front to support Ghising with a message—“We should honour the one who brings light.”
Actor Madan Krishna Shrestha took to social media and stated that Kulman Ghising - whose name alone brightens one’s heart. “Kumman Ghising” is the name of an exemplary patriot who succeeded in turning night into day with his selfless, honest and right decisions, he wrote.
Praising his work, the comedian added that Ghising is the role model for everyone and general people have the same opinion that his term should be extended. The opinion of ordinary Nepalis should not be ignored, he added.
Likewise, Haribansha Aachrya also demanded that Ghising be reappointed in the NEA and wrote, “There are a lot of people who brought darkness in this country, respect the one who brought light.” He further mentioned that his energy increased the energy of the country.
Talking to The Rising Nepal, superstar Rajesh Hamal said, “We Nepalis have come to believe that Kulman Ghising is another name for brightness.”
Stating that Ghising is a person trusted by all Nepalis, actor Hamal said that what Nepalis believe is that if Kulman Ghising is there, the country will be bright and if not the nation will go dark again.
“With the arrival of Ghising at the NEA, Nepalis who had suffered 18– hour long loadshedding had been relieved of the tension of darkness therefore, if Ghising is not appointed for another term, Nepalis have deep fears that they will again face the same 18-hour long loadshedding,” Hamal added.
Hamal further said that even though his tenure will come to an end, Ghising is still young, energetic, healthy and fit, so the government should give another opportunity to Ghising.
Likewise, actress Karisma Manandhar has also strongly demanded for Ghising’s reappointment. By sharing photo with Ghising on social media, she wrote, “There are very few people who think less for themselves and do more for others, Kulman Ghising is needed again.”
Many other celebrities like veteran comedian Manoj Gajurel, veteran singer Amrit Gurung, actor Nawal Khadka, actress Namrata Sapkota, singer Shiva Pariyar and actress Nita Dhungana, among others, have strongly demanded for Ghising’s continuity at the NEA with the strong belief and faith that Ghising will always work for the people.
