Kathmandu, Oct. 23: Considering the popularity of TikTok, a video- sharing app owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, HP Entertainment is hosting a TikTok Star online competition.
According to the organisers, the new talents from different parts of the country will contest online staying at home and the winners will be given an opportunity act in film.
Prakash Pathak, head of the organising body, said that TikTok Star would be a platform for talented, who are deprived of a chance to show their potential.
According to him, there is no way to envisage when life will return to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic and when the film industry will reopen.
“As Nepali film industry cannot be opened immediately, the programme has been organised online keeping in mind the time of this unusual situation,” added Pathak.
The organisers said that the winners could participate in the competition online and would get an opportunity to work in film. Besides, the winners will also receive many other attractive gifts, including cars and scooters. The contestants willing to participate in the competition will have to visit the online portal of HP Entertainment and send the video in full form as per the instructions.
