Manang, Feb 5: The vaccination campaign rolled out in Manang district has been affected due to snowfall, according to Chief of Manang District Health Office, Badri Acharya.
The hilly and mountainous region had recently witnessed heavy snowfall following the impacts of the westerly low-pressure system.
The snowfall has affected the inoculation campaign launched at Upper Manang and Narpabhumi rural municipality, shared Acharya. The campaign has been put off as people were forced to limit themselves inside homes following snowfall.
Acharya added the vaccination campaign would resume once the weather improves. The high hill and mountainous districts are still witnessing snowfall.
the normal life of Manang district has been hit hard due to snowfall. Chief District Officer Rabindra Prasad Acharya urged the Manang folks and tourists not to come out from homes to keep them safe.
Chief of Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Lekhnath Gautam, said tourists entering Manang via the Annapurna trekking route have been asked to be aware due to snowfall for safety reasons.
However, farmers in the district are elated with snowfall thinking it would help increase local production.
