Kathmandu, Mar. 27: Nepal Police have arrested a dozen individuals with a number of illegal drugs from different parts of the country.
According to the Daily News Bulletin of the Nepal Police Headquarters, the dozen arrests were made in different places of Banke, Sunsari, Parsa, Surkhet, Kanchanpur and Dhanusha.
As per the information, three youths were arrested from Banke on Wednesday evening with hashish and brown sugar.
Rudra Budha, 24, and Ravi Pun, 21, were arrested with 12 kg hashish from Bajura Staff Hotel upon a tipoff regarding drug sales by the Banke District Police. Similarly, 25-year-old Prem Kori was arrested with 900 mg brown sugar by a joint team of Jamunaha Area Police Office and Nepalgunj-branch of Narcotics Control Bureau.
Similarly, Dharan Area Police Office arrested three youths with 11 grams of brown sugar on Wednesday afternoon. Police had arrested the trio – Manusha Tamang, 19; Sujan Dhamala, 22; and Arpan Dhamala, 21 – upon special information.
The District Police Office of Parsa also arrested an individual with 25 grams brown sugar from the Shankaracharya Gate at Ward 16 of Birgunj Metropolitan City. Police arrested Shivalal Mahato, 35, after he was searched while entering Birgunj through the Raxaul border point from India on a bicycle.
Likewise, the District Police Office of Surkhet also arrested a 30-year-old Nabi Baks with 180 mg brown sugar from Ward 11 of Birendranagar Municipality on Wednesday night.
The Area Police Office, Beldandi in Kanchanpur also arrested two youths with 220 mg brown sugar during a motorcycle checking at Ward 2 of Beldandi Municipality. On Wednesday evening, Krishna Bam, 24, and Bikram BK, 25, were found carrying the drug when police stopped their motorcycle (Se 6 Pa 789) for checking.
Meanwhile, the District Police Office of Dhanusha also arrested two individuals on Wednesday night with five kilograms of marijuana while checking their motorcycles. Rabindra Sah, 40, and Jiban Sah, 45, were arrested with marijuana while both their motorcycles – Ja 11 Pa 8769 and Naa 28 Pa 5739 – were stopped for security checks.
Further investigation and necessary legal procedures have begun against all the arrested individuals, informed the police authority.
