Kathmandu, Dec. 18: Locals of Chandragiri Municipality-1 Thursday urged Minister for Urban Development Krishna Gopal Shrestha to take the party (Nepal Communist Party) forward in a united manner and urged him to maintain the credibility of the government.
Minister Shrestha, who had arrived at the party cadres' meeting organised by the Municipality-1 on Thursday, was ridiculed saying that the party cadres would lose nothing if the party split, but the leaders would lose their posts and facilities.
On the occasion, Minister Shrestha clarified that there was no alternative to reconciliation.
He said, "Let me assure you all that the party will not split under any circumstance and we will not allow it to happen."
He said the government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli would complete its full term.
Stating that development activities had been intensified as per the aspirations of the people, Minister Shrestha said that popularity of the government was increasing due to people’s immense love for it.
“I will convey the issues you have raised here to the highest level of the party,” Minister Shrestha said.
He clarified that there was no misunderstanding between the government and the party and said, “If that happens, then we should be careful.”
Speaking on the occasion, State Assembly Member of Bagmati Province Harisharan Thapa said that all cadres should caution the party to save the government and to keep the party unity intact.
