Kathmandu, Apr. 24: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu provided 39 ambulances and six buses to various governmental and non-governmental organisations working in the field of health and education on Thursday.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the embassy informed that the vehicles were gifted as part of its ‘India@75’ celebrations and in line with the Indian’s government’s continued support to Nepal to strengthen health services and facilitate physical access to places of learning.
According to the embassy, the ambulances were built as per the guidelines of the Government of Nepal. The embassy has gifted three types of ambulances – advanced life support, basic life support and common life support.
These receiving organisation are from various districts of Nepal including remote ones.
Similarly, the Indian border patrol force, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), also joined the campaign with much zeal and fervour.
Lately, the border area has been facing a lot of controversies due to unchecked and illegal encroachment. Some border posts have been lost due to increasing settlement along the Nepal-India border.
