Kathmandu, Dec. 10: The Film Development Board (FDB) has issued a call for scripts for original and artistic films.
According to the Board, the objective of the call is to develop, promote and preserve indigenous films as well as to promote original, historical, artistic, social, cultural and informative films and films based on national identity.
The FDB has stated that it will co-produce some of the received scripts and provide required expertise for the writing.
The board had earlier informed it would use the scripts to set up a story bank. The bank would then help produce innovative and original movies.
The board informed that the state would provide various facilities for the top five stories.
The board issued the notice on December 7 giving an application period of 21 days. All applicants must be Nepali national and only Nepali producers and companies can apply for co-production.
Moreover, the submitted script must not have been used to make a movie before. The submissions must be registered at the Nepal Copyright Registrar’s Office.
Scripts for both short and feature films will be accepted, the Board’s notice read.
