Kathmandu, April 1:  Quarantine Campaign Theatric Drama Festival has been prolonged by one week with the extension of lockdown.
The festival began since March 27 via virtual mode.
Initially, the festival was said to stream for a week but after the government extended the lockdown by one week majority of theatres participating in the festival also agreed to extend the streaming date, said Kedar Shrestha, Director of Theatre Mall.
The aim of hosting the festival via virtual media was to connect with audience continuously amidst the fear created by COVID-19.
The theatric dramas have been streamed via official Facebook page of Theater Mall every day at 5 pm for one to two hours.
The festival had begun with Shrestha-directed play ‘Maan vs Mati’ and was followed by Namrata KC’s ‘Rajendra Laxmi’.

On the fifth day of the quarantine campaign, ‘Yek Boli Yek Daam’ a play directed by Prabin Khatiwada, was showcased.
On the sixth day, Indian non-verbal children drama ‘Nothing to Say’ will be showcased and with the airing of ‘Shakuntala ko Authi’ on Thursday, the first phase of the drama festival will come to an end.
