Kathmandu, Dec. 4: With the recovery of 2,111 patients from COVID-19 on Thursday, Nepal’s official total recovery tally has now jumped to 220, 272, confirmed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
The 2,111 patients were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation and recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate now stands at 92.7 per cent, according to the latest MoHP data.
1,343 new cases, 13 fatalities
Meanwhile, 1,343 new COVID-19 cases were reported today. Of the 9,289 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 1,343 persons, including 534 females and 809 males, were found with the COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP daily Situation update report.
With this, Nepal’s official national COVID-19 caseload has now reached 237,589, according to the MoHP’s daily report. The new cases include 723 patients, including 325 females and 298 males, from the Kathmandu Valley’s three districts, thus making the capital valley reporting over 53 per cent of today’s daily caseload.
Meanwhile, MoHP reported 13 new COVID-19 related fatalities in the last 24 hours. With this Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has now reached 1,551. The case fatality rate now stands at 0.6 per cent
Currently, there are 15,766 active cases of COVID-19 and 576 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Also, among the active cases, 10,741 are in home isolation across the seven provinces, while 365 patients are admitted to the intensive care units (ICU) of hospitals, and 64 are receiving treatment with ventilator support, according to MoHP report.
Of the 64 patients on ventilator support, the highest, 34 patients, are in Bagmati Province, followed by 12 in Gandaki Province.
