Kathmandu, Apr. 24: Mother's Day is celebrated across the country in honour of mothers who sacrifice so much for their children.
On the special occasion of Mother's Day, children pay respect to their mothers by offering gifts, sweets, fruits and other special offerings.
Likewise, those who do not have mother go to the Mata Tirtha Temple or other religious shrines and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul of their mother.
On this special day dedicated to the mothers, Nepali celebs have also wished their mother and their sacrifices towards them with heart touching words.
Actress Paramita RL Rana wrote on her social media account, “Extremely blessed to have two mothers Mamu (Mother) and Mua Hajur (grandmother), I can’t thank the universe enough that I chose you as my family. I am more than proud and happy to have been born in a family where the ladies are powerful and indestructible.”
Likewise, actor Salon Basnet wrote, “Happy mother’s day mom. You are the only lady that I can understand and where love exists without any expectation and boundaries.”
One of the most confident and successful actresses, Rekha Thapa, also wrote on her social media account that the word mother and relationship was perfect in itself. “Argument works in all relationships, but argument rests with the mother. We all have a place to bow our heads as mothers.”
A talented actress Keki Adhikary wrote a poem dedicating to her mother and sacrifices she made to make their family happy.
Likewise, singer Anju Panta wrote on her social media account, “May my mother, the beloved mother of the world, live in your life with happiness, joy and peace forever. May your blessings remain with us forever.”
It is not enough to honour our beloved mother just on a special day; mothers are those who love continuously, selflessly and unconditionally without any expectation from their children. Loving the mother every day is also the religion and responsibility of the children.

In Nepali Cinema and music, there are many films and music on mothers and their struggle, dedication and sacrifices to their child.
In this regard, 1966 released movie Aama directed by Hira Singh Khatri has a message: Service to the motherland is equally virtuous as service to the mother.
Likewise, Meri Aama, Santanko Maya, Meri Mamu and Aama are some of the Nepali films based on mother, which in one way or another have shown the

generosity and dedication and sacrifices of mothers.
Similarly, there are many songs dedicated to mothers. Among them, Udaya Sotang and Manila Sotang’s “Meri Aama” is a heart touching song. Likewise, Aama Aama Aama Bhanirahe sung by Shishir Yogi, Timro Maya Ko Abhar Ma Aja Samma Bachirahe by Susant KC and so on sing mother’s glory.
Eastern culture also considers mother as the most venerable and she deserves constant respect.
