Kathmandu, Mar. 23: Nepali celebrities are making people aware by posting a video about COVID-19 pandemic on social media sites.
Celebs have taken the issue seriously and have been alerting their fans about the possible spread of coronavirus, after the government issued a notice and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed the nation asking everyone to take preventive measures against coronavirus.
Actress Rekha Thapa also shared a preventive measure by posting a video on Instagram. Rekha, one of the outspoken actresses of Nepali filmdom, mentioned the safety habits to keep oneself safe from the coronavirus. She has urged people to regularly wash hands and not to touch eyes, nose and mouth with hands as a protection measure from being infected with the deadly disease.
Likewise, ‘Kohalpur Express’ actress Keki Adhikary, has also posted a video telling everyone to stay safe and not panic over COVID-19.
Samragyee Rajya Laxmi Shah, one of the most promising and the highest paid actresses in Nepali film industry, has expressed her worry that people are roaming around carelessly with their kids without wearing masks. She said she witnessed such people while going for buying some essential goods at a shop. Even the shopkeepers are not wearing the masks, she added.
She further added that people still had not received the right information. “They don’t know what’s going around the world and it’s a matter of livelihood,” she said, suggesting people to frequently wash their hands using sanitizers and wear masks to keep oneself and others safe from the coronavirus.
Sonica Rokaya, a You tuber and model, has also posted a video on her instagram telling people not to panic and be afraid of the coronavirus. She further tried to console people, “No one can stop the death if death comes in the form of the coronavirus; we should accept it.”
Not only Kollywood, even Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities are telling the people about being safe from the coronavirus.
Hollywood celebrity couples Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopara have posted a video on the social media sending their loves and positive vibes to their fans. “This is an unsure time for all of us but hope you okay,” said Jonas in the video. Similarly, Chopara said in their joint video, “Take care each other and I hope everyone safe out there, just lots of love.”
Likewise, Bollywood actors including, Silpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan, singer Neha Kakkar, actor Sonu Sood and many others have requested their fans to stay safe and follow the preventive measures to avoid the coronavirus.
Even celebrities are keeping themselves in self–isolation at their homes right after the government issued restriction notice in cinema halls and other places.
Likewise, ‘Man Magan’ singer Dipak Bajracharya and his band members of ‘Rhythm’ canceled their two- month musical tour in Australia and New Zealand due to coronavirus. They canceled all their remaining programmes and returned to Nepal in two weeks. He and his band members are now in self-quarantine for 14 days immediately after returning home from the Australia tour before meeting their families. According to the source, they are now isolating themselves in one of the houses in Kathmandu.
