Kathmandu, Aug. 20: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, Thursday appealed to the general public to celebrate Janapurnima, Rishitarpani and Gaijatra and other festivals in a symbolic way without generating crowds.
Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli issuing a press statement today urged the people to observe the festival in a symbolic manner stating that infection rate of COVID-19 was increasing. Stating that the restriction order would remain in force till August 24, the DAO has requested the city dwellers not to engage in crowd generating activities during the festivals.
Meanwhile, restriction order enforced in Kaski district has been extended for another week.

According to Our Kaski Correspondent, the District Administration Office, Kaski, has extended the prohibitory order from August 19 to 26 to control increasing coronavirus cases.
The Kaski DAO has been giving continuity to the restriction order since April 28.
Chief District Officer Thaneshwor Gautam informed that the administration had decided to continue the restriction order as
the infection and death rates in the district were still on rise.

Earlier, the administration had eased the restriction and removed the decision to implement the odd and even number plate system on private and public vehicles. However, from Thursday, the DAO was again compelled to revive the odd and number system on the public and private vehicles.
Similarly, temples, monasteries, mosques, churches can be opened abiding by the health protocols.

In the case of private vehicles and taxis operating within Kaski, maximum four passengers including the driver will be allowed to travel by adopting health related standards.
Similarly, motorcycles and scooters will also be allowed to operate by adopting standards.


The administration has stated that the universities, campuses and secondary schools can conduct the pre-scheduled examinations through online technology by strictly following the precautionary measures.
Similarly, hotels and restaurants will be able to operate online delivery by 8 pm according to the criteria. The order issued by the district administration office states that hotels can accommodate only 50 per cent guests of their bed capacity.
