Kathmandu, May 8: There has been a rumour that Nepali actress Swastima Khadka was going to do a movie in Hollywood. Such rumour on the part of Khadka was natural considering her success in Nepali films as well as her filmmaker husband Nishal Basnet’s.
However, Swastima has refuted the rumour.
In her Instagram live on Wednesday she said she was not involved in the Hollywood movie but she had appeared in an audition of an American film.
She also clarified that Hollywood and American films were completely different and she confirmed that she had not signed any movie as rumoured.
She said that she had appeared at the audition for the American project and had received a very good response from the audition.
She said, “I auditioned for that movie but I was not in condition to say that I was selected, but I got quite good responses. It’s an American film, and especially in the midst of a global pandemic and seeing the worse scenario in the United States, now I am not in a position of confirming that I am doing the American film.”
If the situation got to normal, she showed the green signal that she would work on the project.
Now in the face of a global pandemic of deadly coronavirus, not only artistes but many people are uncertain about their future, she added
As the world plunges into the abyss of economic crisis, no one knows when the current situation will return to normal. In such a situation, it is natural for Khadka to be uncertain about her upcoming projects, both in home and abroad.
The US is one of the badly affected countries by the COVID-19 outbreak. As of now more than 74,000 people have died from the coronavirus and over 1.2 million people there have been infected with the disease.
