By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Apr. 22: A total of 88 persons including two justices and 13 officials of the Birgunj High Court were found infected with the novel coronavirus in the RT-PCR tests done on Wednesday night.
Of the 106 swab samples collected from the court, 80 were put into the COVID-19 test which revealed that 15 court officials had contracted the virus. The RT-PCR test report of the remaining 26 samples is yet to be received.
Moreover, 88 people have been detected with COVID-19 in 192 RT-PCR tests done at the Narayani Hospital laboratory on Wednesday night. Of the new infected patients, 79 are from Parsa, seven from Bara and one each is from Rautahat and Rukum.
Of the 79 COVID-19 patients of Parsa district, 76 are from Birgunj Metropolitan City and three are from Bahadurmai Municipality.
The infection was detected in 64 males and 24 females from four to 78 years of age.
In the last six days, 420 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in 753 RT-PCR tests.
