Kathmandu, Nov. 27: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday confirmed 1,614 new cases of COVID-19.
With this, Nepal’s official national COVID-19 tally has now reached 227,640.
Meanwhile, Nepal’s death toll has climbed to 1,412 with 23 new COVID-19 related fatalities confirmed today. The fatality rate now stands at 0.6 per cent, according to the MoHP.
Currently, there are 16,793 active cases of COVID-19 and 680 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Also, among the active cases, 10575 are on home isolation across the seven states, while 333 patients are admitted to the intensive care units (ICU) of hospitals, and 56 are receiving treatment with ventilator support, according to the MoHP report. Of the 56 patients on ventilator support, 35 patients are in Bagmati Province, followed by 11 in Gandaki.
Of the 9,491 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 1,614 persons, including 640 females and 974 males, were
found with the COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP daily situation update report.
1437 new recoveries
Meanwhile, 1437 patients who were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation, have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP update.
Nepal has recorded 209,435 COVID-19 recoveries until now. The recovery rate now stands at 92 per cent, according to the MoHP.
