Tourism still a long way back to revive, NTB musters efforts

A staggering 86.5 per cent decline in the arrival of foreign tourists is observed when we compare the number of tourists who entered Nepal by Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the month of January 2021 and 2020. A total of 8,870 foreigners visited Nepal via TIA in January of 2021 whereas a total of 65,977 foreigners had arrived at TIA in the same month in 2020, according to the Department of Immigration.

Agreement reached to reopen Mahendranagar Airport

Govt allocates budget for Mini Great Wall construction

Replicating the Great Wall of China, the Government of Nepal has allocated a budget of Rs. 70 million to construct a mini “Great Wall” in Bandipur, Tanahun. Chairman of Bandipur Rural Municipality Purna Singh Thapa informed that the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation had approved the project under Minister Yogesh Bhattarai and allocated the budget. He also shared that the rural municipality had allocated an additional Rs. 7 million for the project.

Province-2 government to run public transportation service

The Province no 2 government is preparing to operate the province transport service within mid-February this year.  It has already purchased five buses at a cost of Rs 30 million 982 thousand for this purpose.
