Kathmandu, Dec. 26: Minister of State for Urban Development of Nepal Ram Bir Manandhar sang 62 songs in a row and set a world record on Friday.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Parbat Gurung had inaugurated four-hour-long singing programme at the Aashtanarayan Hall in Balaju in Kathmandu Friday.
Minister Gurung praised the spirit of State Minister Manandhar to sing songs for four hours continuously.
Minister for State Manandhar started singing at 1:36 pm on Friday.
According to Jay Prakash Shrestha, Personal Secretary of the Minister of State Manandhar, five judges had come from the United Kingdom for keeping the record.
It may be the first singing programme in which a siting minister has set a new record by singing for the longest time.
