Kathmandu, Aug. 24: People’s singer J. B. Tuhure has been receiving treatment at the Balkhu-based Vayodha Hospital since Tuesday last week.
According to Premnath Adhikari, President of Cultural Corporation (Saskritik Sasthan) said that singer Tuhure was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a sudden brain stroke.
As per the doctors, the 78-year-old singer, who also suffers from chronic heart disease, lung, diabetes and high blood pressure, is at risk for a surgery, therefore, his treatment is undergoing through medicine, informed Adhikari.
However, his condition was improving according the medical updates, he added. Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda visited the hospital on Thursday to inquire about his health condition.
Prachanda had said that he would urge the government to bear the entire cost of his treatment if needed, informed Adhikari.
Singer Tuhure has recorded over 150 people’s songs so far.
Born in Dharan, Sunsari, he was also the lawmaker of the CPN (Maoist Centre). Before admitting to the hospital, Tuhure was busy building J.B. Tuhure Foundation in Biratnagar.
