Birgunj, Jan 4 : Three local levels in Parsa district have closed schools due to increasing cold for a week. Recently, Thori and Dhobini Rural Municipalities closed the schools till January 8.
The teaching learning activities already been halted at Jirabhawani area for the same reason.
Cold wave has badly affected the public life in the district. Both and public and private schools were closed to avoid the chilling cold.
Meanwhile, Birgunj Metropolitan City distributed warm clothes to some 6,000 senior citizens in the city. The service was provided as part of public welfare scheme of the Metropolitan City, according to Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarabagi.
A blanket, net, umbrella, and torch light, among others were provided to the senior citizen. The campaign will be reached to all 32 wards of the Metropolitan City.
