Khalanga, April 16: The construction of local roadway has begun here amidst lockdown. The office of the physical infrastructure here began works to construct the roadway linking Urthu to Rara Lake of Mugu.
Office chief Rup Bahadur Rawal informed that it would be easy for the construction and upgrading of road because there was no disturbance of vehicles owing to lockdown.
The roadway is also being upgraded. The office is upgrading the roadway in four phases. Contract of Rs 230 million was made with the Karnali state government for it.
The upgrading was initiated by establishing coordination with Patarasi rural municipality and Chandannath municipality.
Road division office in Jumla, Leela Bahadur Bhandari, also said the roadway at Chautha of Patarasi rural municipality was going on despite lockdown.
Water tap for each household
Meanwhile, people at Pokhari village of Tila rural municipality in Jumla have been elated after getting drinking water taps at their houses. A local Tul Bahadur Rokaya said there was only one water tap in the village in the beginning.
Later, there were six water taps, and now one to each 56 households.
The water taps to each house were set up at the cost of Rs 1.7 million.
